We had both my father-in-law and my mother-in-law there for about three years. She had dementia and was on the Memory Care side. Once it got to the point where she couldn’t stay at home anymore, he wanted to go with her. The manager, Ginny, is just outstanding. They need to hang on to her. He is still mobile, so he still gets out. He loves to play bingo. The activities director, Joe, does a great job of keeping people going and involved. The caregivers are very caring, very attentive, and very concerned. They are like a second family.
We moved my father into this community in February and my mother was living in a separate apartment. We moved her here because this is where my father is. They are happy to be back together. The quality and variety of meals are good. My mom has some items that she cannot eat. We met with the chef and they try to avoid those items that she cannot eat. They have had some shelving hung. The building is very good. She has her independence back and can go where she wants when she can schedule it with transportation. She is thrilled with the transportation. The vehicles are clean and comfortable. There are seatbelts in all the seats and they strap my dad’s wheelchair down. I really like the people that work there. The caregivers that have the most contact with my dad are wonderful.
My mother got to the point where she couldn’t take care of herself, so we looked at two or three places and Orchard Park fit what we were looking for. I’ve been very satisfied with the caregivers and the doctor there at Orchard Park is seeing her. Frank, the maintenance guy over there , set her TV up for her and got it working and everything. He did a good job of it. In her room they put down her flooring before she moved in. I am very satisfied with the management team. What I liked about them was they answered all my questions, knew what was going on, and we had several cases where we had to go and talk to them and they were very helpful. Mom’s really happy and satisfied with the dining. She said she hasn’t had a bad meal so far. The laundry, housekeeping, and activities have all been good. So far, everything is good.
My grandmother has been there for about four years so I would say it is a good value. Her apartment suits her both mentally and physically. I am pleased with the services that she received from all the departments. The care staff always has someone around if she needs anything. The management is accessible and responsive as well. The overall building looks pretty clean and maintained. I don’t see anything broken or disorganized.
Clean nice facility, caring patient staff, great activities director. I’m happy that my mom has this place to call home.
We chose it because it’s near where I live and it’s a relatively new facility. So far the experience has been better than I expected. The girls come by and check on my mom all the time and do an excellent job. They have a nurse practitioner that gave me great feedback and seems to be responsive to any of her needs. It’s very clean and well-maintained, it’s beautiful. The quality of food is excellent, if anything they’re giving too much food out but it’s been good. I’ve eaten there twice and it was excellent both times. She feels very safe and very comfortable.
It’s a very safe place. I know my mom is in a good, safe place. Management always answers my questions. My mother feels good there, and that’s what really matters to me. The activities are very good. She’s in the Reflections program now. They get the residents out more and keep their minds active. My mother tries to do her own laundry and does some strange things. But as far as cleanliness and everything, it’s all good. I haven’t had any real problems.
My mom lived in two other communities and they were all good but this community is a hidden gem. They did a wonderful job in terms of the housekeeping and laundry. The building was in great shape. I never saw the maintenance staff, so that means they must have been staying on top of things. The caretakers were always very intuitive to what my mother needed and did things in a timely manner. The staff there is fantastic. We made personal friends on both the assisted living and the memory care side. We knew them all almost personally. It’s been great!
Management has been extremely great on the transition and helping us get settled, making sure we had everything we needed for my mom. The staff has been wonderful in making sure my mom’s meals are right and the food is very good. The building is very neat, very clean and very orderly. Everyone is extremely caring and very interested in making sure my mom is comfortable.
